Maivy 
Hi! My name is Maivy Xuan Nguyen and I am from the San Francisco Bay Area, currently residing in Oakland, CA. My parents are Vietnamese refugees and immigrants, so I am part of the first generation born in the US. Throughout my life, the stories and journeys of my family have set a strong foundation for me from which I have been able to explore and forge my own pathways. I am forever grateful.

My hobbies, interests and passions are mainly in the realm of making, creating, and building. Whether that is sewing some pants, building a sculpture, or sharing a meal we’ve cooked together with friends---I enjoy the entire process from ideation, to making, to appreciation and even a good critique session.

I am thrilled to be able to spend dedicated and immersive time towards learning many new skills at Rancho Mastatal and humbled by the opportunity. Looking forward to this expansive year!
